Setting up IPTV Level Up on a Firestick takes about ten minutes the first time. You turn on developer mode, install the free Downloader app from Amazon's store, use it to install a player such as TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro, then sign in with the Xtream Codes login from your welcome email. This guide covers every screen, plus the problems beginners usually hit on day one.
What you need before you start
Gather these first so you don't have to stop halfway:
- A Fire TV device. Any Fire TV Stick (Lite, 3rd gen, 4K, 4K Max), Fire TV Cube or a TV with Fire OS built in. If yours is more than five years old, check for a software update under Settings → My Fire TV → About → Check for Updates.
- Your IPTV Level Up login. After payment you receive it usually within minutes of payment: a server URL, a username and a password. Keep the email open on your phone.
- The player download link. Our support team sends the official download link for TiviMate or Smarters on WhatsApp. We don't publish short codes here because third-party codes change and some point to tampered copies.
- A decent connection. At least 25 Mbps for Full HD sports. If the stick is behind the TV and far from the router, consider Amazon's Ethernet adapter.
Step 1: Turn on developer options
Amazon hides developer options by default. To reveal them:
- Press the Home button and open Settings (the gear icon on the right).
- Go to My Fire TV → About.
- Highlight the first line — your device name, such as "Fire TV Stick 4K" — and press the select button seven times.
- A message says "You are now a developer". Press Back once and you'll see Developer Options in the menu.
If you don't see the message, you probably pressed on another line. Highlight the device name exactly and try again.
Step 2: Install Downloader
Downloader is a free utility in the official Amazon Appstore. It's essentially a tiny web browser that can save and install app files.
- Go to Find → Search (or the magnifier on the home screen).
- Type Downloader and pick the orange icon by AFTVnews.
- Select Get or Download, then Open.
- Allow access to files when asked.
Step 3: Allow Downloader to install apps
Back in Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options, choose Install unknown apps (on older Fire OS: Apps from Unknown Sources). Turn it ON for Downloader only. Leaving other apps switched off keeps your stick safer — only the app you trust can install anything.
Step 4: Install your player
Which player? For most people on a Firestick, the answer is TiviMate. It looks like a cable box guide, switches channels fast and handles large playlists well. IPTV Smarters Pro is a good free alternative with a simpler, tile-based layout and built-in movie and series sections. If your stick is an older Lite model, XCIPTV tends to feel lighter.
- Open Downloader and select the address bar.
- Type the download link from our support message and press Go.
- When the download completes, Fire OS shows an install screen. Select Install.
- When it's done, choose Done, then Delete to remove the installer file. That frees space you'll want later.
Tip: if the installer screen never appears, open Downloader's Files tab and select the file manually.
Step 5: Sign in with your IPTV Level Up login
Open the player from Your Apps & Channels (hold the Home button, then Apps).
In TiviMate:
- Choose Add playlist → Xtream Codes.
- Server address: type the URL exactly as in your email, including
http://and the port number after the colon if there is one. - Username and Password: case-sensitive — check capitals.
- Select Next. TiviMate counts the channels, movies and series it found. Name the playlist "Level Up" and select Done.
In IPTV Smarters Pro:
- Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Any name: Level Up. Then username, password and URL.
- Select Add User. The app downloads live TV, movies and series, then opens the dashboard.
Typing on a Fire TV remote is slow. The Amazon Fire TV app on your phone has a keyboard: install it, connect it to the stick and paste the details from your email.
Step 6: Load the guide and test
Give the player a minute or two to download the TV guide. Then:
- Open a news channel first. News feeds are reliable and start instantly — if one plays, your login and connection are fine.
- Open a sports channel. If it plays smoothly, you're done.
- Browse the guide. If times look shifted by several hours, see the troubleshooting section below.
Step 7: Make it feel like home
These small changes make a big difference after the first week:
- Hide groups you never watch. In TiviMate, long-press on a group → Hide. Fewer groups means faster scrolling.
- Build favorites. Long-press a channel → Add to favorites. Favorites become their own group at the top.
- Start on boot. TiviMate → Settings → General → Autostart on boot. The stick goes straight to live TV when you turn the TV on.
- Move the app to the front. On the Fire TV home screen, highlight the app, press the menu button (three lines) → Move and place it first in the row.
Troubleshooting first-day problems
"Invalid username or password" or "Authorization failed"
Nine times out of ten it's a typo: an extra space after pasting, a capital letter where there shouldn't be one, or https instead of http. Copy the details again from the email. If it still fails, send support a screenshot on WhatsApp.
The guide is empty In TiviMate open Settings → EPG → Update EPG. In Smarters, go back to the dashboard and choose Install EPG. A guide download can take a few minutes on slower sticks.
The guide times are wrong TiviMate: Settings → EPG → EPG time shift and adjust by whole hours. Also make sure the Fire TV's own time zone is right under Settings → Preferences → Time Zone.
Buffering on some channels Most stutter on a Firestick is Wi-Fi. Move the stick closer to the router with an HDMI extender (the short cable in the box), switch to the 5 GHz network, or add Ethernet. Then set TiviMate's Settings → Playback → Buffer size to Large. Our buffering guide goes deeper.
"Storage full" warnings Fire TV Sticks have little space. Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications and clear cache on apps you rarely use. Delete leftover installer files in Downloader. Keep at least 1 GB free.
The app disappeared after an update Amazon occasionally removes sideloaded apps during system updates. Reinstall using the same steps — your login details still work.
How many Firesticks can I use?
As many as you like, but only as many can play at the same time as your plan has connections. IPTV Level Up plans come with 1 to 5 connections. If you have a living-room stick and a bedroom stick that are rarely used at the same moment, one connection can work; if they're used at the same time, choose two. Our article on how many connections you need has household examples.
Which Firestick should I buy?
If you're buying new, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the one to get for IPTV: it has more memory, a faster processor and Wi-Fi 6, which matters for 4K sports. The Fire TV Cube adds an Ethernet port, which is the single biggest upgrade for stable streams. The Lite model works, but large channel lists feel sluggish on it.
